A Note From Ronda Thornton

The Heart and Hands behind TNTW

Hi! I’m Ronda, attorney, wellness practitioner, herbalist, yoga teacher, and lifelong student of healing and human resilience.

My work lives at the intersection of structure and intuition, personal sovereignty and collective care. Here, discernment matters just as much as devotion and people are trusted to find their own way rather than handed a map with no room to breathe. I believe wellness is not something to be performed, but something to be practiced honestly and in relationship with self, community, and the world we move through.

True North Total Wellness was created from this understanding: that each of us carries an inner compass, and wellness is the practice of aligning and learning to listen to it.

Philosophy

I believe deeply in the wisdom of the inner compass. Not as a vague idea, but as a real, lived capacity, one that strengthens when we slow down, pay attention, and learn how to distinguish between urgency, conditioning, intuition, and truth.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healing. Bodies are different. Nervous systems differ. Lineages, identities, and capacities are different. What supports one person may overwhelm another, and what serves in one season may be misaligned in the next.

My approach to wellness centers sovereignty, discernment, and self-trust. Rather than prescribing rigid formulas, I focus on helping people the inner resources to choose wisely for themselves, to regulate, respond, and reflect with integrity. To me, wellness is about cultivating a relationship with yourself that can hold complexity, contradiction, rest, growth, and change.

 Background

My work is informed by a multidisciplinary background that spans law, meditation, yoga, trauma-informed practice, herbalism, tea eduction, and intuitive development. I hold a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification and have completed extensive trauma-informed and somatic training, along with certifications in energy work and intuitive practices. I am also an attorney with a background in policy, compliance, mediation, and equitable systems. This blend of disciplines shapes how I teach, guide, and design spaces with care for both the human nervous system and the structures that support sustainable, ethical change.

Why TNTW Exists

I created True North Total Wellness because I saw a gap in the wellness space. Too often, people are asked to perform healing without support for regulation. Or they're given tools without context, depth, or respect for inquiry or personal pacing. Other spaces rely on rigid systems that unintentionally strip people of agency by valuing compliance over discernment and self trust. TNTW was designed to be different. It is a space where structure exists to support freedom, where guidance is offered without hierarchy, and where people are trusted to move at their own pace, returning to practices as companions, not assignments.

How This Space is Held

I don’t see myself as an authority over anyone’s healing. I see myself as a fellow traveler on this journey to wholeness and alignment: someone who has walked, studied, practiced, questioned, and returned again and again to the work of listening inward.

This space is held with intention, care, and respect for individual autonomy. Participation is invitational, not compulsory. Growth is supported, not forced. There is room here for pause, uncertainty, and reorientation.

My hope is that anyone who enters this space feels both resourced and free, supported without being managed, guided without being directed, and trusted to follow their own inner true north. Thank you for walking this path with me. May what you find here nourish your body, awaken your spirit, and ripple outward into every corner of your life.

With love,

Ronda Thornton
