About the Founder

Ronda Thornton

Attorney · Wellness Practitioner · Herbalist · Yoga Teacher · Curator of Sacred Space · Wayfinder · Lifelong Student of Healing

My work lives at the intersection of structure and intuition, personal sovereignty and collective care. Here, discernment matters as much as devotion and people are trusted to find their own footing rather than handed a map with no room to breathe. True North Total Wellness was built from a simple but radical understanding: each of us already carries an inner compass. Wellness is the practice of learning to listen to it..

Philosophy

The Inner Compass

I believe deeply in the wisdom of the inner compass. Not as a vague idea, but as a real, lived capacity, one that strengthens when we slow down, pay attention, and learn how to distinguish between urgency, conditioning, intuition, and truth.

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all healing. Bodies are different. Nervous systems differ. Lineages, identities, and capacities are different. What supports one person may overwhelm another, and what serves in one season may be misaligned in the next.

My approach to wellness centers sovereignty, discernment, and self-trust. Rather than prescribing rigid formulas, I focus on helping people unearth the inner resources to choose wisely for themselves and to regulate, respond, and reflect with integrity. To me, wellness is about cultivating an authentic relationship with yourself that can hold space for complexity, contradiction, rest, growth, and change.

Background

A Multidisciplinary Path

My work is informed by a background that spans law, movement, plant medicine, and intuitive practice. Each thread informs how I teach, guide, and hold space.

My foundation is in justice, compliance, and equity initiatives. As an attorney, consultant, and mediator specializing in Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and workplace policy, I've spent decades helping individuals and institutions navigate conflict, clarity, and fairness.

That work taught me to see people. To actively challenge the prejudices and assumptions that keep individuals from feeling valued, heard, and included. To hold space for our common humanity while honoring the unique qualities each person brings to the whole.

Curiosity about others' experiences, openness to dialogue, and a commitment to equity aren't just professional values. They are the backbone of how I now approach healing, community, and transformation, with an open heart, a questioning mind, and a deep reverence for every person's right to belong.

I am a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with trainings in hatha, alignment-based, Yin, Restorative, and Aerial Yoga. My teaching is trauma-informed and anchored in somatic movement as a way home to the self. I have taught private classes as well as three years of community-based classes at Southwest Atlanta Yoga Studio. My work with energy began as a deeply personal practice, a way to understand the unseen forces shaping healing, emotion, and connection. Reiki and intuitive studies deepened that practice, cultivating a reverence for spiritual safety, humility, and integrity that now lives at the center of how I serve..

My work in this realm reflects my training as a Herbalist, Tea Teacher, and Medicine Worker, and my belief that the body is its own best healer when given the right conditions and care. My studies are rooted in ancient wisdom and modern science combining Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurveda, Western Herbalism, and African Diasporic traditions.

Within the TNTW Portal are a collection of plant-based practices designed to help others reconnect with nature's medicine and their own innate vitality. I am also the founder of Inspiced, a sister brand to TNTW devoted to herbal and tea-based wellness.

"I hold a B.A., a J.D., and several specialized certifications but I don't and will never regard myself as an expert."

As a seeker and lover of life, my learning is ongoing. I continue to study herbalism, trauma, nutrition, somatics, tea, consciousness, and whatever the soul calls next. Each discipline reminding me that there is always more to learn, more to integrate, and more to remember.

Why TNTW Exists

A Different Kind of Wellness Space

TNTW was designed to be different. It is a space where structure exists to support freedom, where guidance is offered without hierarchy, and where people are trusted to move at their own pace.

I created True North Total Wellness because I saw a gap in the wellness space. Too often, people are asked to perform healing without support for regulation. Or they're given tools without context, depth, or respect for inquiry or personal pacing. Other spaces rely on rigid systems that unintentionally strip people of agency by valuing compliance over discernment and self-trust.

I don't see myself as an authority over anyone's healing. I see myself as a fellow traveler, someone who has walked, studied, practiced, questioned, and returned again and again to the work of listening inward. This space is held with intention, care, and respect for individual autonomy. Participation is invitational, not compulsory. Growth is supported, not forced.

My hope is that anyone who enters this space feels safe, seen, and supported — held without being managed, guided without being directed, and trusted to follow their own True North.

With love,

Ronda Thornton
