The Wheel of Life: A Holistic Map for Wholeness

What Is the Wheel of Life?

The Wheel of Life is an ancient-yet-adaptable self-inventory tool that offers a bird’s-eye view of how balanced your life truly feels. Often divided into 8–12 areas—such as health, finances, relationships, purpose, and joy—it gives you a visual snapshot of your current state of wholeness.

At TNTW, we believe in radical self-honesty wrapped in love. The Wheel of Life is not about perfection—it’s about perception. And perception is the portal to alignment.

Why Use the Wheel?

Life can get loud. This tool helps you tune into what’s whispering beneath the surface:

  • Where are you thriving?
  • Where are you leaking energy?
  • What’s been calling for your attention…but getting skipped over?

Using the Wheel helps you see where small recalibrations can create massive shifts. Think of it as a diagnostic—not for what’s “wrong,” but for what’s ready.

How to Use the Wheel

Step 1: Define Your Segments

Download the worksheet and choose your 8–12 life areas. You might start with:

  • Physical Health
  • Emotional Wellbeing
  • Career or Purpose
  • Spiritual Connection
  • Finances
  • Relationships
  • Community
  • Fun & Play
  • Rest & Restoration
  • Creativity

(TNTW Members get access to a pre-built editable version and a guided reflection video.)

Step 2: Rate Each Area

Place a dot on each spoke from 1 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (fully aligned). Don’t overthink it—go with your gut.

Then, connect the dots. You’ll see your current “life shape.” Is it balanced and round—or lopsided and jagged?

Step 3: Reflect with Compassion

Ask yourself:

  • Which areas feel most in flow?
  • Which ones feel dry, disconnected, or depleted?
  • What’s one loving action you can take to support the areas that feel out of sync?

Remember: this isn’t a shame spiral. It’s an invitation into soul-aligned adjustments.

Step 4: Choose Your Focus

You don’t need to “fix” everything at once. Choose one area you feel called to nurture this month. Let this be your path of integration.

Try asking:

  • What do I need here—support, rest, joy, or structure?
  • Is this area out of alignment because it’s being neglected or overly controlled?
  • What would more balance look like in my actual daily life?

Pro Tip: Your wheel will evolve with you. Revisit it monthly or quarterly to notice shifts. Sometimes growth isn’t about expansion—it’s about redistribution of energy.
